Business Economics, BSc Hons

Great course if you are looking to study Economics, but less maths based. Career prospects are good and in your 2nd and 3rd year you can choose most of your modules - more freedom.

Economics and Politics, BSc Hons

By On 1st December 15

Great lecturer in John Maloney. Interesting lectures, interesting content. But modules such as Economic Principles are terrible. The lecturer reads of the slide in an intelligible Greek accent. The tutorials consist of doing questions from the textbook in complete silence, something we could do in our own time. Business school tutorials are also only once a fortnight, as a result of overcrowding. And the tutorial classes are too big - 20 people at least. So getting time to ask the tutors questions is nigh on impossible. Politics modules are MUCH better.

Teaching staff are competent, however the course could me more subject specific and more practical in creating job skills. More contact hours would be great!

Brilliant course, with great job prospects. The Business School offer a lot of support and Xfi are great with helping with module choices. Most lecturers are really enthusiastic about their subject and very understanding.

Lecturers can vary but did have some really good ones. For the worse ones you need to do more independent work but that's expected at uni anyway. I believe economics has very good job prospects and by also doing a year in industry this increases further.
