I've found my time here to be boring and disappointing. Lectures are so useless half the time most of the course don't attend and the staff are left wondering why, even though it's painfully obvious. Most staff are decent enough, but you don't ever feel any sense of community or comradery with fellow course-mates or staff. Booking any of the uni facilities can be a bureaucratic hell, 'make sure you email so and so, add this to your RA, have you cleared this with so and so?' etc. It is a major deterrent against doing anything unless you really have to. Local clubs get old very quickly and if you're not into nightlife you're going to struggle. read more

i think the uni really does have the students best interests at heart. the cleanliness of the toilets needs to be improved (especially in the library) and more normal bins need to be around - i get the recycling aspect but with no normal bins people just end up putting non recycling in the recycling bins read more

So far my BU experience has been alright, I'm a BSc mental health nursing student. My experience with the staff has been overwhelmingly positive. Bournemouth itself can be a little bit intimidating if you're not from a larger population centre as it can be a bit rough around the edges. the night life is okay and there's plenty to see and do. read more
